Do you have chronic swelling?
Lymphedema care in Texas starts with an evaluation from a certified lymphedema therapist. You can request one yourself. If your insurance requires a physician order, our intake team will contact your doctor for you.
Patients can reach out directly. Our team will talk through insurance and scheduling when you call.
When to seek lymphedema care in Texas
Lymphedema is easier to treat when it’s caught early. Request an evaluation if you notice any of these.
- Swelling in an arm, leg, hand or foot, sometimes only at the end of the day
- A feeling of heaviness, tightness or aching in the limb
- Rings, watches, sleeves or shoes that feel tighter than usual
- One arm or leg noticeably larger than the other
- Skin that feels thicker or firmer
- Any new swelling after cancer surgery or radiation, even if mild
When to get help now
Sudden, painful swelling in one leg, a red and hot limb with fever, or swelling with chest pain or shortness of breath needs same-day medical attention. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

What treatment involves
Our Texas team treats patients with complete decongestive therapy, led by certified lymphedema therapists. Treatment pairs in-clinic care with compression and home care, so progress made in the clinic holds between visits.
Every patient leaves with a written plan for long-term management. The Lymphedema Institute is a specialty practice devoted entirely to lymphedema, and each state is held to the same standard of care.
